NEWS 8 –  Police say they have caught an alleged thief, and who she is might surprise you. A Nun, caught on surveillance, allegedly shoplifting $89 worth of KY Jelly at a Pennsylvania Walmart store. Employees of the store grabbed her license plate number and contacted police who tracked down the woman’s address listed as St. Mary’s Presbyterian Convent. Police say the alleged thief is 78-year-old Agnes Bledsoe who lives at the convent.

Police believe the Nun planned to steal from the store ahead of time, she even brought Walmart grocery bags in with her loading them up with bottles of KY jelly. She even threw in some coffee, a couple snacks, soap and shampoo. But when she attempted to leave the store, she triggered the automatic exit door. That’s when the Nun, and the shopping cart when flying out the door, to the car, as she loaded it up and fled the scene.

“I can’t believe a nun would actually do something like this,” said Ted Floggle, Walmart manager. The convent has declined to comment. Police say they have spoken to Sister Agnes and she has been charged with a summary of offenses. And if she pleads guilty, she will only have to pay a fine. Bledsoe has not yet discussed what she planned on doing with $89 worth of KY jelly and the snacks she stole from Walmart. However, she did admit, “It gets lonely at the convent for 78-year-old lady.”
